Pursuing Godliness—for Ourselves & Others
Hope Gospel Church of Kingsport meets at 6:00 PM each Sunday evening for Lord's Day worship at 617 Donelson Drive (next door to Andrew Jackson School, just off Stone Drive in the Grace Church building). Each service features congregational singing, times of prayer, the exposition of Scripture, and the precious fellowship of God's people. Our desire is that Hope Gospel Church will become home to many who are hungry for the Word, who want to be part of a genuine church family, and who want to worship with others who love the gospel of God’s transforming grace. Sunday evening ONLY services starting at 6:00 PM. The historic 1689 London Confession of Faith is a comprehensive statement of the things most surely believed among us. As a more brief statement we recommend the Abstract of Principles. Reformed & Baptist - We embrace Reformed theology as expressed in "Our Guiding Principles" and are committed to the biblical norm of a regenerate (born again) church membership and the baptism of disciples only. (Hope Gospel Church is neither dispensational, paedobaptist, nor charismatic.) | Our Guiding Principles - Sola Scriptura—the Bible alone is the Word of God and possesses absolute authority to define faith and practice.
- Sola Gratia—salvation is by grace alone, because salvation is entirely “of the Lord” by His power and good pleasure.
- Sola Fide—the gift of free salvation by grace is experienced by faith alone; human merit contributes nothing to the salvation of sinners, as saving faith itself is the gift of God.
- Solus Christus—saving faith embraces Christ alone, for only He by His substitutionary death saves sinners from sin and death; the sort of faith that saves has Christ alone as its object.
- Soli Deo Gloria—Glory to God alone for the salvation of His people, chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world to the praise of His glorious grace.
